Last week was WHO IS THIS HOLY TRINITY? and
as mentioned for this week, the topic is WHO GOD IS! not that
anyone could cover all of WHO GOD IS! Even with in-depth intense
study, we will never know everything about GOD! There are
certain things we can learn through His word, the Holy Spirit,
and a personal relationship. After all he created us not the
other way around. These days when paying attention to what has
happened in the world, we can see that we certainly need God who
is Omniscient (knowing all things), Omnipotent (having unlimited
power or authority), Omnipresent (present in all places at the
same time transcending, in time and space that we can’t even
imagine).

I once saw on a TV show about a woman who could hear what
people were thinking and the government had a special place
that they trained her to hear criminal minds. It showed when
she wasn't in the right places she could hear everyone’s
voice. She was being trained in some special way to just
filter the criminal mind. Watching this show you could hear
all the voices bombarding her mind. All these voices had all
kinds of problems thoughts. She would occasionally go crazy
with all of that responsibility and just want to run. I
never saw that show again. This show made me think about all
those thoughts that I would be hearing. By now you are
probably wondering what this has to do with Almighty God!
Just imagine you were bombarded with everyone’s prayers,
knew the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly and be petitioned with
all kinds of favors, miracles, blessings. Well I sure
wouldn’t want that happening to me. It boggles the mind!
Would You? I don’t think anyone but God could handle
everyone and everything. He does give us grace, mercy and
forgiveness and that should be sufficient for us. (Topics

Here is a Question that we should all think
about and ask God! “What can we do for you God?” Not
What Can God do for us! This is Food For Thought!
(Read James 1:22 about not being a hearer only!)
Don’t get me wrong , yes! God does want us to
petition Him and He loves to bless His children, but He also
wants us to do our part, and seek Him in all things. (Find in
Matthew 7:7)
Remember God does know all things and his
plans are not based on appearance but the heart of the inner
being and on consequences. He gives us a choice because he is
not a dictator. Those choices when not in His order of things
and goes against WHO HE IS! and HIS CREATED ORDER! there will
be consequences!.
He invented time but is not bound by time and
he looks at all things of the eternal as now! A Thousand Years
to us can be a moment to him. The entire universe can be an
instant to Him. (Read 2 Peter 3:8 about a 1000 years
being a day)
In Biblical conception, God is a living God
who shows himself to mankind in different ways and in the first
two chapters of Genesis the various stages of creation are
described.
God created everything in a certain order.
His focus is on mankind and he gave mankind dominance over the
earth and all living things.
Starting in the Old Testament God is
described of having a special bond with the Israelites as a
King, Creator, and Shepherd. Their God is a mother and as a
husband as well as The God of all human kind to Israel. They
called him Yahweh! He showed himself to Moses as a Burning Bush.
(Exodus 3:1-4) When God was asked who he was, God
replied, “I AM the Great I AM.” Later on God Spoke to Moses like
a Man with his friend” . When Moses wanted to see God, God told
Moses that no man would be able to see his countenance because
he would not be able to live. On Mount Sinai, God showed himself
to the Israelites in the form of thunder and earth quakes.
Further reading in Exodus shows God as their savior. God rescued
the Israelites from the Egyptian slavery.
There are many descriptions of God and his
relationship with the Israelites through out not only the Old
Testament but also in the New Testament where because of what
happens with the Israelites that God has covenant with all human
kind not just the Israelites. Through out the New Testament and
during the time when Jesus taught He also accepted the Gentiles.
After his crucifixion, death and resurrection his disciples and
followers spread the Good News to the Gentiles. The Israelites
(Jewish people) did not believe in the birth and resurrection so
the Gentiles were graphed as God’s Children when they became
reborn Christians. When you study the New Testament you can
trace the beginning of how the Gentiles were graphed and where
all mankind has the opportunity to make the choice to be God’s
Children.
God takes part in our daily lives and He is
present in our lives and is not just behind four walls in a
place of worship. Where two or more are praying and or
worshiping, praising God, He will be there. When you make God
First including Him in your daily life you will see him working.
God wants your dependence on Him. The way to God The Father is
through Jesus. We pray in the name of Jesus.
Think about this: How can anyone who clearly
understands reality think that they can make better decisions
than God? The Bible is full of accounts of people who thought
they did. In these days we live in times when all forms of
external authority are being challenged to put in God’s place Do
What Feels Good! This is a quest that so many do as an excuse to
do what they want to do rather than be held accountable for what
is right and wrong. Scriptures tell us that this mindset is
foolish. (Read Proverbs) This mindset ignores dependence on God.
Read Lamentations 3:22-26 and consider the importance of
an attitude of ongoing dependence on God.
In finding out Who God Is!, learn
God's order, what His Ways are, Focus on Him, develop your
relationship with him through Jesus who is the way to The
Father, how to make God first and center in your daily life,
through study, meditation of His Word and let the Holy Spirit
lead you in all Truths. When we get to the Disciplines of The
Holy Spirit in Food for Thought Series you will learn more about
focusing on God. It does take a life time in learning and
growing in God. The sooner we focus on God the sooner we can
live out the purpose and design that He has for each person.
As per the Food For Thought Series may all
your thoughts be focused on Who Is God and What
