In DeGraff, Kansas where I was born we lived just right
across from this church. When I was around 10 or 12 I made a
slingshot and got pretty good shooting rocks at tin cans.
Every time I would be out in the yard playing I would see
that window up there inviting me to shoot at it. I knew I
would get in trouble if I did.
One day I did
and shot the middle window out. I never could get away with
anything and was caught at it by the pastor who was looking
out the window. When I was asked about it I told the truth
not knowing that I had a witness to me shooting the window
out. That whole summer had to spend my time mowing the yard.
Now as I look back I know these words helped me a lot when I
told the truth about what I did as a young boy. |
